The September 21st Weekly Royal Recap
Kate Middleton returns to work, A Very Royal Scandal premieres, Prince Harry turns 40 and more in this week's edition of the Weekly Royal Recap!
Happy Saturday, folks! Today I am bringing you the September 21st weekly royal recap and wow it has been much quieter than last week!
Let’s get started, shall we?
Prince Harry Turns 40!
Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex turned 40 on Sunday, with plans to celebrate with family in California before taking off for a trip with friends. For the first time in two years, both the royal family’s and the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official social media accounts wished Prince Harry a happy birthday. In what seems a very simple birthday post, may be the first sign of reconciliation happening behind the scenes. I covered it in-depth in Prince Harry's Birthday Post: A Subtle Step Towards Reconciliation?.
Since then, royal watchers have been quick to point out that the photo was cropped, leaving Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex out of frame. It was reported by The Independent that Buckingham Palace did not alter the photo and used it as it was received.
Kate Middleton Returns to Work
Starting strong, the Princess of Wales returned to work following her announcement last week that she has completed chemotherapy. We learned from the court circular that she attended a meeting at Windsor Castle with the Royal Foundation’s Centre for Early Childhood team. One of Kate’s passion projects since becoming royal has been the early years of childhood and the development and research behind these crucial years. You can learn more about the project on the Centre for Early Childhood’s website, here. There are no public photos of this meeting.
Amazon Prime’s A Very Royal Scandal
Amazon Prime’s A Very Royal Scandal is said to be much more scandalous than Netflix’s Scoop. Both center around Prince Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein. This time around Michael Sheen portrays Prince Andrew, with the BBC reporting, “Sheen's Prince Andrew is a more complex figure, self-seeking, emotionally deaf, ambitious, loyal to his own immediate family, distrustful of palace officials and with a desperate need for approval. It is a performance where Richard III meets Alan Partridge.” (Source — bbc.com)
The three-part series premiered September 19th. Are you watching? Let me know in the comments!

Prince William’s New Equerry
Replacing Lt. Cdr. Rob Dixon, Sqn. Ldr. Mike Reynolds has taken on the role of equerry for Prince William. Both William and Reynolds are helicopter pilots and funnily, both are currently sporting a beard!
Archewell Foundation Marks National Voter Registration Day
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s foundation, Archewell Foundation, released a statement on National Voter Registration Day, reminding their audience of the importance of registering to vote.
Part of the statement reads, "Voting is not just a right; it's a fundamental way to influence the fate of our communities. At The Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, no matter one's political party, is at the heart of a more just and equitable world. By participating in initiatives like this, we aim to amplify the message that every voice matters.” (Source — archewell.org) You can read it in full here.
